A Thoughtful Week

     2012 is on the horizon, and I can't believe it.  Not to say that I'm surprised time has gone so fast, I can't believe the idea that somehow 2012 is the last year ever.  So many folks say that, because of the Mayan calendar ending, that December 20-something 2012 is the end of creation.  I can't understand why the Mayan calendar holds so much significance.  Sure, they were a great civilization, but their is no suggestion that the Mayans even believed 2012 would be the final year- their calendar simply ran out.  What are your thoughts?  Do you put any stock into these end-world prophecies, or do you discount it?  Why do you stand with the position you do?

Holy smokes!  Has it already been a week?  Sellersville Charge A Car has been bumping, and I've had little time to even think, let alone post on here.  With some down time, I wanted to fill everyone in on the happenings here:

First of all, we now own an Amazon Kindle Fire!  Come in for a car or to make a payment?  Ask to use the Kindle and I'll be happy to show it to you.  We can also use this for in-office reviews for our Google Page, which would REALLY help us out.

Next on the list, we have REDUCED our down payments on all vehicles.  We understand that the season is both joyous, but also a little more expensive.  Let us help you!

Low Rider

Greetings once again!  This unseasonable weather is out of left field, but I'm not complaining by any means.  It's nice to leave the scarf and hat at home.


What I am complaining about is Yelp!  A few weeks ago we finally got our first review on there, and it was Five stars.  I was ecstatic.  I logged on yesterday to check the site and found this:
"No active reviews for this business (1 filtered review)."


Perplexed, I dug a little deeper.  As it turns out that Yelp! has an automatic filter system that tries to eliminate spam and fake reviews.  This "system" occasionally snags a real review and filters it.  This wouldn't be too big of an issue if I could contact someone about removing the filter, since it is a genuine review.  However, Yelp! has decided that customer support isn't important.


In the Frequently Asked Questions, under "Will You Reinstate a Legitimate Review that was Filtered" they say: "Either way, business owners should probably focus less on any one review and more on their entire body of reviews."  That's well and fine... IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN JUST ONE REVIEW!  But when you are just starting out on a site, this is extremely inconvenient.


So I pose this question to you: Do you use Yelp! day-to-day, or have you ever even heard of the website?  Is it still worth maintaining our place on Yelp?

Flashing the Head Lights

We really hope the you still in good health if you chose to go out shopping yesterday.  There is an outrageous video of a mob flooding an Urban Outfitters on YouTube.  That's just crazy.  We'd love to pass on savings to you, but in a more orderly fashion.  We are currently running a Red Tag sale!  Didn't think you could find an affordable car with bad or no credit?  Turned down by the big banks too many times?  We are here for you!

For those of you out there who enjoy the NBA (like me) the union and commission have reached a "hand-shake" agreement.  Sounds like the season will start on Christmas day barring any break-down in negotiations. Here's to hoping we get to see some Sixers action come the holidays!

Happy Turkey Day!

Hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving Day tomorrow.  I personally will be heading down to Lancaster with my dad and siblings to visit my grandparents.  I'm so excited for the stuffing and cranberry sauce.  My grandfather carves a mean turkey, too.  Let me know what your plans are in the comments below!

So a few days ago I was heading out to see a movie with my buddy.  We were heading down 313 from Doylestown and a deer hopped out in front of us.  Going 55mph, I slammed on the brakes and narrowly missed the deer by 3 feet!  It was a big one, too, with a 7 or 8 point rack.  That got my heart pounding.  Have you had any close calls recently?

Gobble Gobble!

Our turkey drive went off without a hitch today!  We handed out thirty-seven birds as well as cans of cranberry sauce and boxes of stuffing!  That's a lot of Thanksgiving eatery!  For those of you who did not receive a turkey today, swing by tomorrow (Saturday) to snag what is left.  We are open until 3pm.

Looking In The Rear View Mirror

It's incredible to me that Thanksgiving is right around the corner, with winter on its heels.  Feels like just yesterday 80 degree weather was making me sweat while outside disc-golfing.  Any disc-golfers out there?  I've found two great courses in the area that are worth checking out (although with winter on the way it may get too chilly to play).

Lots of One's Today!

     As we all know, today is 11/11/11.  To celebrate, I will make mention of important One's happening here.  First of all, if you are an active customer, we will have One turkey waiting for you on Saturday, November 19th between 9am and 3pm.  Come by then to pick it up.  We have been having One big problem with our computer software MSP by Constellation Auto.  They reset the servers on Wednesday and it screwed up everyone.  We've been dealing with it, but some advance notice from them would have been nice.  We also have One Yelp! page, One Foursquare page, One Facebook page, One website, One Twitter account, and One YouTube channel.  Check us out if you get the chance!

There Is No Stopping Us!

In case you didn't know, a turkey will be waiting for you at our office on Saturday, November 19th.  Swing by to claim your bird, or it will be super lonely on Thanksgiving Day.  We appreciate our customers immensely!  You all are the reason we've been here for twenty years, and will continue to do business for another twenty!

Revving the Engine

Starting this month off right!  We've enjoyed assisting five customers into three new vehicles.  Things are clickin' here, with fresh donuts and coffee, and hotdogs on the way for lunch.  Every Friday lunch is provided, so if you are able to swing by help yourself to a hotdog!

I've certainly enjoyed constructing this blog, and Blogger makes the process easy.  Today I am going to begin work on a monthly newsletter that can be given away to customers, friends, and passers-by.  There's a lot of design that goes into making a project like this look professional.  It should prove to be a fun challenge!

Also, we've got a new incentive for customers and non-customers alike!  Who is next in line in your family or friends to reestablish credit and get the car they deserve?  Send them our way: we'll treat them right and, if they purchase a vehicle from us, you get FIFTY bucks!

November is already here.  It's the last chance to enjoy pumpkins, falling leaves, and hay rides before the chill and ice of winter cover them up.  Many have already been covered up by a sudden entrance of winter, some still without power, others with fallen tree branches and debris all about their yards.  I hope those affected adversely by the snow storm Saturday can get their power and water back soon.  I also am grateful for the thousands of emergency officers, maintenance workers, and volunteers who have helped clean up and repair the mess left in the wake of the snow.  See someone who needs help?  Give them a hand.

Scraping the Windows

The sun has shown its face today, and the snow is slowly melting.  The storm on Saturday came out of left field, and it seems like few were prepared.  A few of our own employees are still without power, and the traffic lights near our office are out!  Be careful if you are driving and keep an eye out for black ice.  We had several winners from our Saturday costume contest: Lori Hibbard, Alison Roger's daughter Payton, and Lisa Morris and her family all took home cash prizes.  Thanks folks!

Its the last day of the month and we are working hard to finish October strong in sales.  We were terribly slow earlier in the month, but we're making up ground.  Come in today to take advantage of the last day of $200 off any down payment!

Putting on the Snow Tires

Fillin' Up the Anti-Freeze

It's a gray, drizzly day here in Telford.  But our spirits are up!  We're hosting a donation drive for Toys for Tots through the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.  We have two donation boxes set up in our office awaiting their first donations.  It could be you.  Get into the Christmas Spirit early this season and drop off a new toy, clothes, or canned food today!

We're Banging on all Cylinders!

Last night we had a meeting with management and our sister store Auto Mile Sales & Credit.  The Spinnerstown Hotel hosted us and provided excellent service, food, and drinks.  At the meeting we covered a plethora of topics, from our upcoming name change (Advantage Auto Sales & Credit Inc.) to our progress on the World Wide Web, to how to extend even better customer service to people like YOU!

We realized that we have the best Referral Program out there, but at the same time we've been lacking in the presentation of the program.  Making sure our customers know that it is possible to get their entire loan paid off after five referrals is important!  Besides, along the way to five referrals customers get $50, $100, $150, and $200 respectively for the first four referrals that buy from us.  At conventions, other dealers are surprised that we offer such a generous program.  Exposing this benefit of buying from Sellersville Charge A Car is going to be a top priority from here on out!
